i didn't know that....
K: do you want some very bad trivia
K: that just popped into my head from the cpa days
A: uh oh
A: okay
K: You know how you can claim a child as a deduction
A: yeah
K: even if the child died during the year
A: oh really? ddn't know that
K: Yeah, you get it or you don't, you dont pro-rate it or anything
K: Well if you have a kid and its stillborn, no deduction
K: you never had a kid
A: okay
K: but if you have the kid and he/she dies very soon after birth, you get the deduction
K: even if he/she was only alive for a few seconds
K: I think they issue a certificate of live birth and certificate of death on the same day... pretty fucked up
K: but you at least get to save some tax dollars
