Monday, December 30, 2002 wanna see: Catch Me If You Can song of the moment: Spitz - "Cherry" LOTR forever! "Seeing The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers is like having a second date with a woman who made you fall in love at first sight." -- Lawrence Toppman, CHARLOTTE OBSERVER i saw the lord of the rings: the two towers today... for the second time... YEAH I LOVE IT and i think most everyone does too! so it was still good the second time around, and boo on me for wasting money to watch it again, but it was just so fun! this time i went with my cousin, hazel and her friend, and before that i went with two buddies from hkd, kevin and angie. hi you guys! anyways. i have to ask people that have seen this movie what they think of the scene where legolas flips under his horse and onto its back. it's so bad. so he sticks out his left hand, then (insert shady looking cgi figure here) he grabs-- you can't even tell what on the horse-- and then *yoink* and he's swinging underneath its head (it doesn't matter that he'd probably been trampled before he could swing up-- or that if he actually were able to pull himself up, his weight would have dragged the horse down) and then he's suddenly on the horses back. absolutely hilarious! how is it this even made it into the movie! couldn't they have made it more real looking...? well. i'd decided to revisit my book collection-- i knew i had the lord of the rings sitting around somewhere! ^_^ i went back to read the hobbit last year when the fellowship of the ring came out, but i couldn't finish. my new goal: skip the hobbit, start with the fellowship of the ring, and read through to the end so i find out what happens to frodo, and smeagol, and arwen and eowyn and aragorn, and of course, everybody's favorite woodland elf, legolas. i figure this way, all the holes in the movie are filled, and i get extra insight into the whole ordeal. but it's not as easy as i thought it would be... the books are a lot more detailed and offer a lot more information than the movies do, despite the three hour run time of each movie. the books are so dense! and i guess it doesn't help that i'm reading at the end of the day, when i'm already tired and sitting in bed. *sigh* when did i turn into such a LOTR freak! MGL is scary so last night i went to milpitas golfland. getting there and back was pretty crazy, but the most entertaining part was that there were a bunch of guys there all up on the ddr machines and this one really strange game called para para paradise, where you have to activate the indicated sensors-- a la ddr. so the sensors detect your movements and you dance along with a sprite and in the process you end up looking pretty goofy. i was amazed watching this thing! this machine turned teenage boys into cheerleading dancers, and thirty year old men into pawing cats... no really-- it was very scary... i can't believe how GOOD these guys were at this game... they followed the little sprites, activated all the sensors at just the right time, and succeeded in looking foolish... they were good-- but disturbingly so. my friend willis also started getting into it... willis, all i have to say is, please dont become a parahead. deal? i dont ever wanna see you dance like a cat. posted by tha muce -|- 12/30/2002 01:19:00 AM -|- reassuring comments?!?! ---> so far!
