Sunday, October 27, 2002 R-E-S-P-E-C-T what is respect? it's being courteous and polite. it's treating people and things as if they were family. it's saying "please" and "thank you" and meaning it. have you ever seen "Blast From the Past"? it's this one movie where this guy that has spent his whole life in a bomb shelter for 30 or 35 years or something, and then he leaves the shelter to find everything is TOTALLY different from what it was like in the 60s. There is a really cute swing dancing scene too btw. i like swing dancing. ANYWAYS, in the movie, the main character guy says something like, "using good manners is another way of showing someone you care about them" -- or something. it's really cute. and i think it's true. when you are polite to someone, it's not because you hate their guts... unless you're being nice to spite them... but you know what i mean. now, you may be thinking, but i'm not stuffy with my friends! it's one thing to be familiar with someone, joke around and whatnot, but you can joke around and be respectful. in addition, i think dressing nicely is also a way of showing you care. like if someone put the effort into dressing themselves for you, i think that shows something. but it's using your turn signal when making a turn. and not walking in front of a car when you're crossing the street. and not trying to kill pedestrians. heh. but speaking of respect... i went to this one club with a whole mess of friends and i got hit on by some guy named "d-- like the letter" who apparently stroked my hair and gave me then gun before leaving me to terrorize some other poor girl. but before he did, he treated me to a dance. yay. he warned me i suppose-- "when i dance i get freaky!" yeah okay. how humiliating. come on now guys, don't tell me you think this works! anyways, there were a lot of really scary girls there too... what's with the hoochie mama asian girls? it's like, geez, i dont wanna see that much skin! have you no shame! no respect for yourself?! arg. okay time to study. midterm on tuesday. = ( posted by tha muce -|- 10/27/2002 10:21:00 PM -|- reassuring comments?!?! ---> so far!
